Nissan Australia has recalled 419 examples of its luxury Infiniti Q50 and Q70 sedans due to a fault which could lead the propeller shaft to fail and the vehicle to lose power.

"Due to a manufacturing issue, the vehicle's propeller shaft may have insufficient strength and could fail," Nissan said in its recall notice.
"As a result, the vehicle may stop operating while in motion and the driver will be unable to continue driving the vehicle.
"If the vehicle stops operation while in motion, this could increase the risk of an accident causing injury or death to vehicle occupants, other road users and bystanders."
It's the second time the Infiniti Q70 has been recalled for a propshaft fault, having been impacted by the issue in 2021.
Infiniti – Nissan's luxury division, akin to what Lexus is to Toyota – sold vehicles in Australia between 2012 and 2020, with its parent company continuing to support owners locally, though a handful of Infiniti service centres remain in Australia.
If you own an affected Q50 or Q70, you can contact your local Infiniti Service Centre to schedule an appointment to have your car's propeller shaft replaced, free of charge.
